On April 14 Spartan Mixed Martial Arts had their first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) grading for 2018. This was a tuff two hour test where students put their BJJ skills to the test looking to move up the ranks and to further develop their BJJ game. A number of SpartanMMA students were successful in their grading on the 14th, Dale Rea, Sarah Irving, Tristan Dart, Glen Watson, Robert Trewartha, Aidan Berg, Pat Carter, Joe Rowland and Jackson Yarf all earned another stripe on their BJJ journey. But the standout for the day was Lachlan Dart grading to blue belt. Not only is this a huge achievement for Lachlan who has worked incredibly hard over the last two and a half years, being super consistent and dedicated in class, traveling to Melbourne to train and also competing professionally in MMA. But this is also a big achievement for SpartanMMA Warrnambool as it marks our first grass roots adult coloured belt in BJJ. Congratulations again Lachy! We look forward to many more grading’s and colour belts coming up through the ranks in the future at SpartanMMA
